Carmen Ejogo, rather like Lipton's tea and the band Bush, is much more famous in America than in her native country. A West London girl who has stubbornly refused to Americanise anything, from her accent to her opinions, she won over the US public with films such as The Avengers and Kenneth Branagh's Love's Labour's Lost. It doesn't hurt that she's married to Jeffrey Wright (aka Felix Leiter in the last two Bond films), and settled down to live the American dream as a mother of two in Brooklyn.
